More Westlaw Training (and Free CLE) at the Law Library

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in Room 107 of the Law Library, we will be offering the following two CLE programs:

10-11 a.m. - Intermediate Research on WestlawNext (1 hour of general credit)
Take the next step in your research training with Intermediate WestlawNext. Find our more tips and tricks for getting the best results from your research time utilizing WestlawNext.

11:15a-12:15 p.m. - Employment Law Research Using Westlaw (1 hour of general credit)
Efficient online access to comprehensive, current, and accurate information is an indispensable competitive advantage in the practice of employment law. Westlaw provides access to a comprehensive online library of relevant materials.  This training will focus on using these materials as you perform research tasks such as:
  • evaluating clients and their claims, including potential recovery or exposure,
  • investigating facts, parties, and issues,
  • researching the law, including the most recent developments,
  • preparing a case for trial,
  • litigating a case, and
  • devising programs and policies for your clients.

Self-Help Forms Clinics in Carson City in May

Nevada Legal Services holds free forms completion clinics twice monthly in Carson City for people who are representing themselves in court. The clinics are held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Nevada Supreme Court Library (at 201 S. Carson Street - enter using Stewart Street entrance) and the fourth Thursday of each month at the Business Resource Innovation Center (at 108 E. Proctor Street - click on link for map). The next scheduled clinics are May 8 at the Supreme Court and May 22 at the BRIC. NLS brings a volunteer attorney, a paralegal, and a notary public. There is no charge and no income restrictions for these clinics. Patrons are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Self-Help Forms Clinics in Carson City in April

Nevada Legal Services holds free forms completion clinics twice monthly in Carson City for people who are representing themselves in court.  The clinics are held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Nevada Supreme Court Library (at 201 S. Carson Street - enter using Stewart Street entrance) and the fourth Thursday of each month at the Business Resource Innovation Center (at 108 E. Additionally in April, NLS is holding a special clinic for seniors at the law library on April 25.
